Rules for dating
I have identified the following rules to change the approach:1. How fun is it to hang out with someone who only puts themselves down?
Save the candlelit dinners and the butterflies for the second date – because then you'll know if you have the compatibilty and chemistry to take things further.
It is heartbreaking to see them make the same mistakes over and over again.
All too often, I see friends continually devastated by their dating experiences. Don’t give them your power by allowing yourself to feel bad.
Dating etiquette can be very useful indeed and we should all abide by it, even the dating rules that rely on old-fashioned stereotypes (such as expecting blokes to make the first move). In these times of increasing equality, this attitude just doesn’t seem fair – to anyone involved!
It can be nerve-wracking to say hello to someone new, but what’s even scarier is the thought that this should be left in the hands of just one gender.
